Reporting

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The IM Sequencer makes reports about the different runs. The reporting options lets you change some vital parts.

Indicators (Success,Warning,Error)

The indicators enables you to classify certain step results. See here for a complete list off all step text results.

Detail reports

When a steps result text matches a detail report indicator a detail report will be created containing detailed information about the step result.

Note: When using the report template "Traxion_TotalStatusReport_Template.xslt" you do not need any detail information because this information is fully integrated within the report.

Reports directory

This is the directory where all the reports are stored. The reports are stored in the following structure, the directory can be relative.

<Report base directory>\"StatusReports_" + yyyy_MM_dd\<Runprofilename>\<Runprofilename>"_results.xml"

The detail reports are stored within the main report directory and can be found in the "DetailReports" directory.

You can view the generated reports by clicking the link button in the statistics pane, you can access the detail reports by right clicking in the steps view.

Note: If there is already a same directory from a previous run that day the IM Sequencer creates a new directory with a number appended, this will generate unique directories on the same day for equal runprofiles.

Remove reports older  than x day(s)
Reports in the report directory will be removed if they are older than 'x' days, this is done via the IM Sequencer service, disabling the service will not remove any old reports. Old reports from the reporting directory will be removed every night at 0:00, this time can be changed manually via the configuration file.

Status report template

This is the template to generate the HTML report. The template is written in XSLT. You can change the template to a custom template by changing the setting.

Note: The IM Sequencer will always generate a <Runprofilename>"_results.xml", with the use of the template a <Runprofilename>"_results.html" will be created additionally.

Note: Filenames cannot be larger than 256, if the IM Sequencer detects a longer filename, it will be stripped to the length of 256. If there is already a same filename the filename will be appended with a number to make the file unique.

Detail report template

This is the template to generate the detail report. The template is written in XSLT. You can change the template to a custom template by changing the setting.

Note: The IM Sequencer will always generate a <Mangement Agent Name> <Runprofilename>"_results.xml",  with the use of the template a <Mangement Agent Name> <Runprofilename>"_results.html" will be created additionally.

Note: Filenames cannot be larger than 256, if the IM Sequencer detects a longer filename, it will be stripped to the length of 256. If there is already a same filename the filename will be appended with a number to make the file unique.

Note: When using the report template "Traxion_TotalStatusReport_Template.xslt" you do not need any detail information because this information is fully integrated within the report.

Task report template

This is the template to generate the task result report. The template is written in XSLT. You can change the template to a custom template by changing the setting. A Task report will be send when the Alerting for a Task is set and when the task did not succeed.

All task result reports are stored within the "Reports" directory, within this directory a separate directory "Scheduled Tasks" is created, this directory contains all  separate task result reports. Every task has it's own directory, witch contains the task result in xml format.

Email report template

This is the template that is used to generate the email body that will be send when the IM Sequencer send the report. This template is a simplified version that has no advanced html and javascript functions and is displayed better in email programs.

The status report (generated with the "status report template") is always send as attachment and so can be opened in a browser that do supports advanced html and javascript functionality.
