A MultiStep is a step that contains other steps. The MultiStep controls the execution of the internal steps.
The internal steps from a MultiStep can be Single steps or other Multi steps, there is not nesting limit. But it's advised to not nest deeper as two levels.
The MultiStep contains several settings:
The name for a MultiStep is only used for display purposes, this way you are able to track the progress and view the report.
There are two run modes:
- "Start steps after another"
All steps within this MultiStep are started at the same time, when all inner steps are finished this MultiStep is also finished.
When running this mode the entire MultiStep result is calculated from the inner step results.
Note: Only create Single Steps that do only export or import, do no run multiple Single steps that are synchronizing, this can result in unpredicted behavior within the synchronization server. The FIM/MIM database could get corrupted!
- "Start all steps at once"
All steps within this MultiStep are started after each other, this will check each individual step result before continuing to the next step.
The entire MultiStep result is calculated from the inner step results.
Multi step general settings
If this step is disabled, it will not be started. The step will be reported with the status "disabled"
Note: When the parent step is disabled, this step is automatically disabled.
Post wait minutes
The wait minutes will halt the sequential processing. This means when a step is finished the sequencer run will wait X minutes before the next step is started.
Note: This only applies to steps that are started in synchronized run mode.
Continue if this step exceeds the threshold
Indicates if the processing should continue to the next step if this step has exceeded the threshold, if not set the processing will continue, only a warning will be displayed in the report and the steps view.
The threshold for a MultiStep is calculated from the inner steps threshold results.
Continue if this step result is not success
Indicates if the processing should continue to the next step if this step result was not success, if not set the processing will continue, only a warning will be displayed in the report and the steps view.
The success for a MultiStep is calculated from the inner steps results.
